"One cultural belief of some of my ancestors is that animals and wildlife are an intrinsic part of the natural and spiritual balance of life. When they are diminished, so are we. Another belief is that Mother Earth and all her creatures teaches us many things. These lessons help us to be in greater harmony with the Universe and God. Inspired and guided by these beliefs I paint wildlife in rich textured oils. I strive to capture a habit, a moment, and a look of each animal I paint that conveys its personal and essential spiritual strength. I hope each painting moves the viewer to feeling a connection with that animal and inspires a moment of reflection on the lessons that animal teaches just by being who it is. Ultimately, each one of us has within us a part of all other living beings. Knowing them helps us to know ourselves." Nancy Walters
