I will be opening my studio to the public for Silicon Valley Open Studio at San Jose's The Alameda Art Works.
Come by and visit my studio #12.  There are 35 Artists at The Alameda Art Works and most will be opening their studios.  A wonderful place to see many different kinds of art. We will be open from 11-5pm on Saturday and Sunday May 1 and 2. We are located near Race Street and The Alameda behind the recycle bookstore in a big building that used to be the San Jose Roller Rink.

My painting, Test Of Wills is in this show.  The show was designed to honor and give recognition to women painters of the past.  Each person accepted into this show chose a woman painter of the past who inspired her.  My choice was Rosa Bonheur.  She was a French painter born in 1822.  She was a wildlife painter, as I am, at a time when women were not accepted as painters let alone of wildlife.  She would go out into nature to study her subjects. She had to get permission from the autorities to wear men's pants for her outings as that was illegal.  She cut her hair short, smoked, spent her life in the company of women and was a controversial and somewhat scandelous figure. She was courageous in challenging the traditional roles of men and women, and in taking up wildlife painting, and she was also noted as being a very kind and good person. 

My painting Egret on Palo Alto Bay Lands was juried into this show.  Stop by the Art Museum of Los Gatos for a browse, and there are so many wonderful places to visit in downtown Los Gatos.
