This painting was inspired by the eagle Dillon of the San Francisco Zoo. He was rescued after crashing into a cliff at Dillion Beach in California and taken in at the zoo. Even with many injuries, vision problems and a mangled unfixable wing, he survived, and lived out his long life teaching children about Eagles in the childrens section of the zoo. He taught me that you can live with dignity and nobility and purpose even with great physical limitations. |
