This paiting was inspired by my trip to Hudson Bay in northern Canada to observe the Polar Bears. The Polar Bear is threatened with extinction by global warming. Each spring near Churchhill, they must leap from the ice in hopes of finding land to wait out the summer. And perhaps to find each other to mate.
